Hair Regrowth with PRF
How Does Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF) therapy work?

PRF therapy (the second generation of PRP therapy) uses properties in our blood that possess nutrients and growth factors, and can be used to accelerate cell proliferation and collagen production. PRF therapy involves drawing a small sample of blood and putting it into a high-speed spinning machine called a centrifuge. In the centrifuge, the platelet-rich-plasma separates from the blood, forming a concentrated serum.
The serum can then be injected into the scalp to reactivate aged hair follicles. The serum can also be injected into facial areas to stimulate collagen production for a more youthful look. The entire procedure takes about 1 hour.

How long do the results of PRF therapy last?

For scalp area injections, patients tend to see increased hair growth within 4 to 6 weeks. Follow-up appointments are then required after 6-12 months to maintain the hair growth results. For facial area injections, the results appear in about 3 to 4 weeks, and last between 12 months to 18 months before a follow-up appointment is required.

What are the side effects of PRF?

Because the serum consists of the patient's own blood, there is minimal risk of reaction to the serum itself. However, patients may experience tenderness, redness, or mild pain at the injection site.
Patients who are undergoing acne treatment, have severe skin conditions (such as Eczema, Psoriasis or Rosacea), platelet or bleeding disorders, HIV, or chronic illness should avoid PRP therapy. We recommend you consult with your doctor to see if PRP therapy is right for you.
