Botox/Dysport Injections

How do Botox/Dysport injections work?

As our skin thins with age, it begins to crease when our muscles repeatedly contract. Botox and Dysport injections block signals from the nerves to the muscle, inhibiting the injected muscle from contracting. This allows facial creases, like crow's feet, forehead lines, and furrowed brows, to relax and soften. These injections can be used preemptively to avoid wrinkles at a later stage.

The Botox/Dysport injection only takes about 10-15 minutes. Jubilee Clinic and Aesthetics uses the finest needles and safest products so patients experience minor to no discomfort.

How long do the results last?

Botox will generally take 7 to 14 days for the injection to take full effect. With Dysport, the effects are seen as early as 3 days.  Results should last about 3-4 months. However, with continuing treatments, those wrinkles will become less and less noticeable as the injections work to permanently shrink the muscles.

What are the side effects of Botox/Dysport?

Temporary bruising is the most common side effect of Botox and Dysport injections. Some patients experience headaches, allergic reactions to the product, or eyelid drooping, although these side effects are very rare, and they are temporary. Those who are pregnant, are breastfeeding, or have neurological conditions should not undergo a Botox/Dysport treatment. We recommend you consult your doctor to ensure Botox/Dysport is right for you.
